It is well known that the landlords of a population are by far the most vulnerable, and the PEI government is taking action to prevent mistreatment.
Last cabinet meeting PEI housing minister Steven Myers was quoted stating “leeching renters have clearly abused and extorted the landlord minority” as an extension adding “We in government view the atrocious treatment of our fragile landlords, as equal to that of the Black, Indigenous, and people of color. The first step in righting the wrongs of the renters is to combine the Landlord community with that of the BIPOC community.” Myers explains this completely rational line of thinking further stating, “This is really about awareness, if people aren’t aware of the daily prejudices and microaggressions this struggling minority faces, how will the common man know to treat them like the princes and princesses they are”.
Steven Myers suggests “Tipping your landlord”, saying “Landlords work tirelessly year round, the least these dope dealing renters can do is show some support and give a little extra this christmas.”
